Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Join the Hydropower Learning Lab to hear a panel of hydropower reform experts discuss an in-depth exploration of FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission)-regulated hydropower dams. In this session, session leaders will provide an overview of hydropower in the U.S., teach you how to find the hydropower dams closest to you, and lay the groundwork on hydropower licensing. You'll be able to choose areas to explore more deeply through breakout groups, focused on issues including the environmental impacts of FERC-licensed hydropower projects and mitigation strategies, preliminary permits and Tribal protections to safeguard culturally significant rivers, and hydropower dam removal process and case studies. You'll walk away with strategies for getting involved in hydropower projects and learn how you can actively work to protect and restore rivers.
